Escape    1 Thessalonians 5:9-11

In today's passage Paul continues in the context of the Rapture and the Day of the Lord.  He tells the Thessalonians that they have not been appointed to wrath but to receive salvation.  To understand what Paul is telling them we delve into the 3 aspects of salvation - justification, sanctification, glorification - and what it means in this context.

Reality    Romans 1:21

The Bible is extremely clear that man's knowledge and wisdom is futile and useless.  Because of this, those who live outside the kingdom of God live in a fantasy world.  Unfortunately, many within the kingdom also live in a fantasy world.  Only God's Word has the absolute Truth and understanding about reality.  We must be sure that we live in reality - which means to live in God's will.

Leaders    1 Thessalonians 5:12

As Paul winds down the letter to the Thessalonians, he closes by covering some basic instructions.  In today's passage Paul speaks to the relationship between the leaders and the congregation.
